Rumble aboard our underground train as it rolls into an historic mining tunnel. Push up your sleeves at the Gold Panning Pavilion and keep what you find! Engage with interactive exhibits and learn about minerals, history and what life was like back in the day from informative but informal tour guides.

Britannia Mine Museum opens up a little-seen world that fascinates all ages, turning out awe-inspiring sights and memorable family experiences. History constantly evolves at the Museum, connecting the past, present and future of Canadian mining.

The Britannia Mine Museum will soon be launching “BOOM!” - a live-action, multi-sensory special effects show that brings the historic 96-year-old Mill No. 3 building back to life. The theatrical spectacle will transport visitors back in time to the 1920s when the Mine was one of the largest copper producers in the British Commonwealth. The show shares the magical story of the awe-inspiring 20-storey architectural marvel as one of North America’s last gravity-fed concentrator mills, as it processed precious minerals from the ore extracted from the mine.

As a charitable organization, the Museum is self-supporting in its ability to earn revenues to maintain operations, research, exhibits and programs. Each admission, gift shop purchase, site rental, membership and donation helps preserve Canadian heritage and presents mining’s relevance today and towards a sustainable future.

Take a step back in time at this award-winning attraction and National Historic Site. Located along the beautiful Sea-to-Sky Highway between Squamish and Vancouver. See you soon!
