Are you ready for an adventure that's as enchanting as it is thrilling? Picture this: a 22-hour RV journey to Disneyland with a three-year-old in tow. Join me, my husband, and our little explorer as we take you through a whirlwind adventure, filled with excitement, anticipation, and the unexpected perks of RV travel.
Picking Up The RV
Our story begins with the CanaDream RV handover – a moment filled with pure anticipation and excitement. "THIS IS OUR HOME FOR THE NEXT 11 DAYS!" we exclaimed with grins from ear to ear. It wasn't just an RV; it was a ticket to our dream adventure. Our daughter, Ciara, shared our enthusiasm and quickly dubbed it her "House on Wheels." Trust me; telling her we had to give it back at the end of our journey was no easy task. But more on that later. Before hitting the road, we made our CanaDream RV feel like home. We packed all our beloved blankets, pillows, toys, and, of course, our stash of snacks. Our first stop was just an hour away from home – a cautious choice when traveling with a toddler. Turns out, she was right at home in the RV, and quite quickly, it felt like home to all of us.
Driving to Disneyland
Once we crossed the border into the USA, we learned that finding RV parks was a breeze. Each day, we drove as far as we could, stopping at RV parks with on-site playgrounds to keep our little one entertained.Having a fully-loaded kitchen in our RV was a game-changer. We could whip up meals on the go and never ran out of our favorite snacks.
The RV became our comfort zone for the epic journey to Disneyland. After our initial stop just over the border in Ferndale, WA, we stayed overnight in Eugene, OR and Santa Nella, CA before making it to Anaheim, CA! Arriving in Anaheim, our excitement peaked as we couldn't wait to dive into the Disney magic.
RV Park in Disneyland
People often asked us where we parked our RV near Disneyland. Lucky for us, Anaheim Harbor RV Park was within walking distance of the theme park. We did our homework and read glowing reviews about this RV park, and it didn't disappoint. With laundry facilities, a pool, and most importantly, proximity to Disneyland, it was a perfect fit. It took us just 15 minutes to stroll into the enchanting world of Disney. And as if that wasn't cool enough, the price for seven nights was a jaw-dropping $500 Canadian – a real steal!
More the Merrier
Our CanaDream RV could comfortably accommodate four adults and two kids, and we quickly discovered that "the more, the merrier" was the way to go. My parents joined us, adding an extra layer of fun to our adventure. One person could keep the driver company while two adults kept our daughter entertained in the back. It made splitting the driving and sharing the fun even more enjoyable. Plus, my mom's talent for whipping up road snacks was a delightful bonus!
The Perks
One of the unexpected perks of our RV adventure was the freedom to collect souvenirs without worrying about space. Our RV had room to spare, so there was no need to fret about squeezing them into suitcases or ensuring their safe journey home. When it was time to hit the road again, all we had to do was unhook the RV, and we were good to go. Convenience level? Off the charts!
Conclusion
Our road trip to Disneyland in a CanaDream RV was nothing short of magical. From the thrill of picking up our "House on Wheels" to the delightful surprises of RV travel, it was an adventure that exceeded our wildest dreams. So, if you're up for a journey that combines the comfort of home with the excitement of exploration, an RV trip to Disneyland should definitely be on your radar. As we learned, it's an experience that's too good to miss out on.
Now, if you're wondering what the most challenging part of our CanaDream RV adventure was, it was the heart-wrenching task of telling our daughter we couldn't keep it.
We couldn't help but laugh as we drove her to daycare the next morning – it turned into a long and emotional conversation. In the end, we simply promised her that it wouldn't be our last trip with CanaDream RV, and that seemed to work like magic 🪄
To travel like Sonia and her Disney Bound family, we suggest travelling with the Maxi Motorhome (MHA). The MHA will be perfect for up to 4 adults and 2 small children that plan on experiencing the open road!
