Big Fun at Big White in Summer!

Picture it: You’ve just finished an alpine hike, you’re sipping a pint of craft beer, basking in the summer sun and enjoying the unparalleled view of the Monashee and Selkirk Mountain ranges.

You’re at Big White Ski Resort, located in the heart of the Okanagan, just 45 minutes outside of Kelowna, BC – and while the mountain is known for its epic snow conditions during the winter season, during the summer months, underneath the 25 feet of powder, lies a playground for hikers, campers and nature lovers of all ages.

Park your RV or pitch a tent in the full service campground, next to the Black Forest Day Lodge which is complete with running water, washrooms and picnic tables – and just a short walk to the on-mountain restaurants, festivals and activities in the Village.

Big White has an extensive network of hiking trails designed for all ability levels, and free to use daily throughout the summer.

Trek 40 minutes up the alpine, or hop on the comfortable and quick Bullet Express Chairlift. Pass fields of flowers, mountain-fed streams and wandering wildlife. At the top, ooh and ahh over the spectacular Rhonda Lake – situated over 2,000 metres above sea level.

Big White is also home to BC’s newest fully lift-accessed bike park and a world-class slopestyle centre. Over the past few seasons, the park has undergone massive trail development, with terrain for everyone from beginner mountain bikers to pros. And, from July 30 to August 2, witness the world’s best compete at the 2nd annual free ride days featuring the Big White Invitational hosted by Tom van Steenbergen.

Big White will be open for the 2020 summer season from June 25 to September 7, Monday- Thursday.
