This summer we have the perfect excuse to stay close to home and explore the beauty of our own province – an opportunity to discover the hidden gems that may only be a few hours away, but that we’ve never taken the time to appreciate.

Here’s our selection of the most scenic road trips by province, across Canada. Grab the family, pack up your RV rental from CanaDream and appreciate all that ‘home’ as to offer.

British Columbia - Sea to Sky

Praised as one of the most gorgeous drives in the world, the Sea-to-Sky Highway is a must-do adventure if you’re in BC. Highway 99 will wind you from Vancouver’s North Shore up past Whistler to the Pemberton Valley. Stop along the way to enjoy the beauty and take in the views … keep your eyes on the water, if you’re lucky you’ll spot a pod of orcas breaching!

Alberta - Icefields Parkway

If Alberta is home, driving the Icefields Parkway is a road-trip you need to make time for! While the 230-kilometer highway, which winds through the Canadian Rockies, can be driven in a few hours we recommend making a day of it as you’ll want to have time for a hike or two, and to walk on the Athabasca Glacier.

Ontario - Toronto to Stratford

Discover the beauty of Southern Ontario as you enjoy the drive from Toronto through Kitchener, New Hamburg before arriving in Stratford. Although the drive is relatively short, the route is dotted with historical landmarks, amazing art galleries and magnificent churches which you’ll want to stop and check out.

Quebec - Montreal to Gaspésie

If you’re longing to experience all the natural beauty the province of Quebec has to offer, a trip from Montreal to Gaspésie will tick all the boxes. Visit the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City and walk along Dufferin Terrace to view Quebec's historical sites. Stop in the Charlevoix region to explore the many riverbanks along Baie-Saint-Paul and the Acropole-des-Draveurs trail, before arriving in Gaspésie region – the perfect place to relax, whatever the season!

Newfoundland - Irish Loop

The Irish Loop in Newfoundland is a roundtrip route of only about 300 kilometers that travels through quaint out ports before skirting the shore of the Atlantic, providing opportunities to spot seabirds, icebergs and whales. While this coastline journey isn’t a long-haul, we recommend allowing for a full-day adventure to soak in the beautiful Irish culture of the communities you’ll travel through.

New Brunswick - Bay of Fundy

If you didn’t already know, the Bay of Fundy is one of the 7 wonders of North America, and our top pick for a road trip destination in New Brunswick.  Located on Canada’s east coast Fundy is well-known for having the highest tides on earth, is home to all kinds of dinosaur fossils and an array of marine life. Be sure to bring your camera … you’re going to want to remember the scenery!

PEI - North Cape Coastal Drive

The North Cape Coastal Drive will be 350 kilometers of the most awe-inspiring views you’ll ever see! As you drive through the quant fishing villages, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of Prince Edward Island. Calling all lighthouse lovers! Make a stop at West Point Lighthouse and take in the beauty of the waves crashing around you.

Nova Scotia - Cabot Trail

The Cabot Trail is considered one of the world's most beautiful scenic drives, boasting stunning ocean views amongst old-growth forests. Playing host to an array of outdoor activities there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy - hiking, kayaking, whale watching, horseback riding, boat touring, swimming, and shore-side water sports. If you’re seafood lover you will have found your heaven – fresh local seafood is caught locally or raised in all communities - crab, oysters, mussels, clams, scallops, and mackerel.

Yukon - Dempster Hwy

The Dempster is known as the jewel of the Yukon. Travelling this highway is an amazing road trip adventure that will take you through landscapes of colourful mountainous terrain, scenic views and wildlife a-plenty, all the way to the arctic circle.

Whether you select one of our top-picks or discover a path of your own, we would love to come along for the adventure! #MyCanaDream on your social media posts so we can see the hidden gems of your home province!
