What's Included in a Long-Term CanaDream RV Rental? Kitchen, Bedding, Heating & Wi-Fi Explained
Standard Equipment Included With Every Rental
Every CanaDream rental vehicle comes with a core set of kitchen, sleeping, and utility items. The specific inventory varies by model, but here is what travellers can generally expect across the fleet.
Kitchen and Cooking Equipment
CanaDream rental vehicles come equipped with a gas stove, microwave or microwave/convection oven, refrigerator, and sink as built-in appliances. Cookware, dishes, cutlery, and utensils are not included as standard in the base rental cost, but you can book them separately through the optional Kitchen Kit, priced per booking. The kit covers everything needed for everyday cooking, from pots and pans through to knives, a kettle, and drinking glasses.
If you plan to cook most of your meals on the road, add the Kitchen Kit and you are sorted. Everything you need will be waiting for you when you pick up.
Bedding and Linens
Bedding is not included as standard, but you can add a Linen Kit to your booking for an additional cost per person. Each kit includes a comforter or blanket, pillow, pillow case, flat and fitted sheets, and a full set of towels. For a longer trip, having linens taken care of saves a lot of space in your bags.
If two people are sharing a queen bed, bedding will be set up for that configuration by default. Just let CanaDream know at booking if you need linens for separate beds.
Heating and Climate Control
All CanaDream motorhomes have a thermostatically controlled propane furnace that you can set to a desired temperature. The furnace fan runs off the coach batteries, which recharge while driving or when plugged into shore power, so heating works whether you are on hookups or not. Roof-mounted air conditioning is available on most motorhome models and runs on 110V shore power or the generator.
Practical Utilities and Safety Equipment
Beyond the built-in appliances, every CanaDream rental includes a preparation kit at no extra cost: toilet paper, a bucket, dustpan and brush, clothes hangers, a flashlight, a screwdriver, pliers, scissors, a BBQ lighter, a doormat, rubber gloves, and toilet chemical pods.
Standard vehicle equipment across the fleet also includes:
- Toilet and bathroom facilities (varies by model, with campervans and smaller units having more compact configurations)
- Interior lighting operating on 12V coach batteries
- Exterior power outlet and connections for campground hookups
- Fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector
Smaller campervan models such as the Deluxe Van Camper (DVC) and Super Van Camper (SVC) have more compact bathroom arrangements, while larger motorhomes like the Maxi Motorhome (MHA) and Maxi Plus Motorhome (MHX) offer full bathroom and shower facilities with more living space throughout.

Preparation and Cleaning Fees: What to Expect
Understanding the fee structure around vehicle preparation and end-of-rental cleaning removes surprises from your final invoice.
Preparation Fee
The preparation fee covers readying the vehicle for your trip, including the first supply of propane, toilet chemicals, and the preparation kit items listed above. In most cases this fee is included in the nightly rental cost and will be confirmed at booking.
Cleaning Responsibility at Return
Guests are expected to return the vehicle in a reasonably clean condition. This means the interior should be tidied, dishes washed, and the toilet and bathroom area left in a clean state. The grey and black water holding tanks must be emptied before return. If tanks are returned full, a specific dump fee will apply in addition to any other charges.
If you would rather hand back the keys and head straight home, the Drop & Go service allows us to take care of the final interior and exterior clean, tank emptying, and waste disposal for you. It is a popular option for longer trips and can be a great way to end a holiday on a high note. Further details are on the CanaDream Travel Extras page.
If the vehicle is returned in a condition requiring significant cleaning beyond normal wear, an additional cleaning charge may apply. Guests are also liable for damage or incidents that fall outside the scope of standard rental coverage, so reviewing your protection plan and the rental Terms and Conditions before departure is worthwhile. The return condition guidelines are covered during the orientation at pickup.

Is Roadside Coverage Included?
Roadside assistance is included with CanaDream rentals, providing 24/7 support via a toll-free helpline for breakdowns and accidents. Roadside coverage includes emergency telephone support, and guidance on towing and repair arrangements where required.
It is worth knowing that while emergency assistance is always dispatched, some costs may fall to you depending on your protection plan. Guests are responsible for costs from damage, misuse, or incidents not covered by their optional coverage, so it is worth reviewing your plan and the rental Terms and Conditions before you head off.

Frequently Asked Questions About Long-Term CanaDream Rentals
Is Wi-Fi included with a CanaDream rental?
No, Wi-Fi is not automatically included in CanaDream rental vehicles, but a Solis Wi-Fi Hotspot is available as an optional add-on for an additional charge, subject to availability at your pickup location and applicable data plan limits. The hotspot allows easy internet access for texts, emails, social media, and web browsing while on the road. More information about the Solis Wi-Fi Hotspot can be found on the CanaDream website. For a broader look at staying connected during your trip, CanaDream also has a blog covering other ways to get Wi-Fi in an RV across Canada. Campground Wi-Fi is available at many sites but tends to be inconsistent, particularly in rural or national park areas, so having a dedicated connection is worth planning for on longer trips.
Is the kitchen equipment sufficient for cooking full meals every day?
Yes, the built-in kitchen appliances combined with the optional Kitchen Kit is suited to cooking full meals on the road. The Kitchen Kit covers the essentials and then some, including pots, a frying pan, a casserole dish, knives, a kettle, mixing bowl, colander, and a full set of crockery and cutlery per person, among other items. Combined with the built-in gas stove, microwave or convection oven, and refrigerator, the setup covers everyday cooking without needing to bring your own gear. The Kitchen Kit is an add-on at an additional cost per vehicle, bookable when you make your reservation.
Are pets allowed in CanaDream rental vehicles?
Yes, dogs and cats are welcome on CanaDream rentals at all branches across Canada. Most campgrounds across Canada are pet friendly too. A pet fee applies and should be arranged at booking or before pickup. If a pet travels without the fee being paid, it will be applied at drop-off. The RV must be returned in its original condition, and any additional cleaning or repairs required due to pet damage will be charged accordingly. Bona fide service animals travel free of charge with prior permission. If you are crossing into the United States with your pet, check requirements with U.S. Customs and Border Protection before your trip.
Do I need to pay a security deposit when booking?
Yes, a security deposit is required at rental and held as a credit card pre-authorization. It is returned after vehicle inspection at the end of your trip, provided there is no damage beyond normal wear. For full details, refer to the CanaDream FAQs page.
Are there any restrictions on where I can take the rental vehicle?
Yes, there are some travel restrictions when renting an RV; whilst CanaDream vehicles are approved for travel within Canada and the continental United States, travel into Mexico is not permitted.
US travel is not automatically included in your rental. A fixed charge applies and needs to be added to your reservation before you cross the border. If you decide after pickup that you want to head into the US, just call the toll-free number and the team can add it to your booking and process the fee on your credit card. There is no coverage if you cross without prior authorization, so it is important to sort this in advance. For the current US travel fee, visit the CanaDream pricing page.
One practical note for border crossings: US Agriculture may not allow fresh meat, fruits, and vegetables into the country, so it is easier to shop for groceries once you are in the United States.
