The Discovery Wildlife Park gives a home to animals that are no longer able to survive in their natural habitats. Just a few animals that live at the zoo are bears, lions, and beavers. For a great family campground loaded with activities, take a trip to the Great Canadian Barn Dance and RV Park. The campground gives you the option to either camp in an RV or to choose from a variety of their cottages. Guests have the option of eating dinner in the barn, followed by live Western music and dancing. If you don’t already know how to dance, they also offer lessons for campers. Aside from music and dancing, you can enjoy their lake, beach area, sports fields, and playgrounds.

Peace River Cabins and Outdoors
Explore northern Alberta with a trip to Peace River Cabins and Outdoors. The campground is located right on the Peace River, which is a section of the MacKenzie River system, the largest river system in Canada. This makes it the perfect place to go on a guided kayak or canoe ride while getting to see some of the best views in Alberta. Guided hikes of the area are also sure to show you some amazing natural scenery as well as learn more about the wilderness in northern Alberta.

For many campers, no trip is complete without some adventure. Mukwah Rafting Tours and RV Park gives you access to one of the best rivers for whitewater rafting, the Upper Red Deer River. Rafter Six Ranch
The Rafter Six Ranch is a world-famous campground that offers campers with the perfect western experience. This family-owned campground lets you camp in a peaceful area along Highway #1 in between Calgary and Banff with either an RV or a tent. Rafter Six Ranch is a haven for campers interested in horseback riding and they have several different horseback riding packages with a variety of different horses.

Riverview Campground
Nature lovers will want to visit the Riverview Campground, located along the North Saskatchewan River in Rocky Mountain House. A camping trip here can also lead to amazing fishing opportunities on the river. If you’re traveling with young kids, they even have a fishing pond just for children. It’s location also makes easy to get to some of the most popular nearby attractions. While you’re staying at Riverview Campground, visit the Rocky Mountain House Historical Site, the Rocky Mountain House Museum, a historical walk of the downtown area, and the Columbian Ice Fields.

Upper Shunda Creek Campground
Located along Shunda Creek in the Canadian Rockies, is the Upper Shunda Creek Campground. This campground is great to spend your trip hiking along scenic trails or go ATVing. The nearby attractions also should not be overlooked. The campground is only one hour away from the Banff/Jasper Icefield Parkway. While you’re in the area, you can also go golfing at one of Alberta’s oldest nine-hole golf courses.

Wagons West RV Park
One of the most popular attractions for anyone visiting Alberta is the Canadian Rocky Mountains. A great campground close to the Canadian Rockies is Wagons West RV Park. Just a few amenities the park offers are outdoor game areas, a playground, laundromat, and a laundromat. The campground is only an hour away from Calgary and it’s close to a local shopping center, a swimming pool, golf courses, and quad trails.
