Commonly asked questions about renting a CanaDream RV in winter.
If you are planning on crossing into the USA we suggest you shop for your groceries once you are in the United States.
Snow chains are included in our winter rentals with our Winter Ready Maxi Motorhome, so Guests can use them if they feel the road conditions require them. Maximum speed when driving with snow chains is 20km/hour.
The vehicle will be winterized due to freezing temperatures, meaning there is no use of the water system. This typically occurs from October 15 to April 30, but can vary.
We recommend staying in campgrounds with electrical hookups and washroom facilities.
For full use of washroom and kitchen facilities during winter, consider our Winter Ready Maxi Motorhome (MHA) with insulated and heated tanks and pipes.

- interior winter cab blanket, and
- insulated and heated water and holding tanks.
Please note that all RVs (except for the MHA) are subject to winterization depending on weather conditions. This process protects the RV’s water systems from freeze damage and will disable the water system, including the shower, sink, and toilet.
Depending on the weather during your trip, your RV may require winterization or de-winterization while on the road. Any associated costs for these services are the responsibility of the Guest.
