There is a dash radio in every motorhome. In line with changing technology, CD players are not fitted in all vehicles. While many of our vehicles also have an auxiliary and/or USB outlets, we are unable to guarantee that the vehicle you receive will have this feature.
Televisions and media players are factory fitted in most of our vehicles. While we do not promote the availability of TVs with our rental fleet, we are happy to allow Guests to use the TVs if they wish. We cannot however guarantee that the TV will be operational nor can we guarantee reception in the many areas that Guests choose to camp. We do not provide on-road or technical support for TV related issues. Please note that a charge of $40 will be applied for missing TV remote controls at drop-off.

You can select your pick-up time during Online Check-in (which opens 5 days before pick-up). To ensure a smooth, efficient operation and to minimize waiting times, we offer a range of pick-up slots:

  • Standard Pick-up slots are between 1:00pm and 3:30/4:00pm, no charge.
  • Early Pick-up slots are between 10:00am and 12:30pm for a $75 fee (subject to availability).

Pick-up slots vary from station to station, depending on the volume of pick-ups and Crew. You will see what time slots are available to you during Online Check-in, so we recommend that if you want a particular pick-up time, to commence Check-in as soon as you receive your invitation to start. This will provide you with the widest choice of times.

Unfortunately, pick-up times cannot be booked before Online Check-in due to the scheduling of our fleet. Guests are encouraged to arrive on time for their chosen pick-up slot, so our Crew can help get you on the road as quickly as possible.

CanaDream does not recommend Guests pick-up on the same day as flying in from an international flight. It is best to rest and pick-up the day after, so you are fresh and ready to set off on your RV road trip. CanaDream stations are unable to stay open for late-arriving Guests if flights are delayed and pick-up slots are missed.

Yes.  When you book an RV vacation with CanaDream you can also purchase a Parks Canada Discovery Pass which is valid for one year from the day you get it.  Learn more about purchasing a Parks Canada Discovery Pass from CanaDream here.

We strongly recommend that Guests plan to stay in campgrounds during their RV vacations, particularly if they are unfamiliar with the area.   This adds a layer of safety to their travels and provides them with access to campground facilities and hookups.  If Guests choose not to stay in campgrounds or are unable to secure a booking, there are other options.   Refer to our blog, Camping for Free in Canada, to learn about camping on Crown Land and other places.

Changes to an existing booking may incur a charge.  If you wish to change an existing booking, please see our Booking Amendment policy.
Yes.   We are happy to provide online versions of our Guest Guides which have information about the operation of everything in our RVs.  Please feel free to view these in English, French or German for the RV type you have booked.
Yes. As long as you are picking up and dropping off at the same location, you are welcome to unpack your suitcase in your motorhome and leave it at our rental location. We are happy to store your suitcase until you return. There is no charge for this service.
A valid driver’s license from the country of residence is mandatory and drivers must be over 21 years of age (no maximum age limit) to legitimately rent and operate a motorhome with the full confidence and knowledge of valid insurance coverage. No additional license is required. An International driver’s license is strongly recommended if the license is not in English or French - note that an International license is only valid if presented alongside the original driver’s license. Please note that the physical driving license card is required at pick up, digital driving licenses are becoming more popular but are not acceptable on their own.

Where space is available, we are happy for CanaDream Guests to park a car at our location while heading off on an RV road trip. This is strictly subject to availability in our lot and based on a first come first served basis. Reservations for parking are not possible and only one car is allowed per booking. We cannot offer any guarantee that parking will be available on any given day. Where parking is available, there will be no charge to the Guest except at our Edmonton, Montreal, and Toronto locations where a parking fee of $35 plus tax applies, regardless of the duration of the booking.  Sorry, we are unable to provide EV charging stations at our locations.

Our partnerships with airport parking facilities provide Guests with a discount offer for parking at their secure lots. Most of these lots also offer a EV Charging Service to ensure your vehicle is fully charged when you return from your trip. Please make your booking direct with the parking provider. CanaDream does not offer a transfer service to/from the parking provider's storage lot. Guests must arrange their own transport.

We are also happy to provide offers from our airport hotel partners for short-term parking if you stay one night at their establishment (hotel offers apply only when booking through CanaDream Club).

CanaDream RVs have GPS tracking which trigger alerts when any RV is being driven into a Northern Surcharge, Prohibited or Restricted travel area.

Yes. We are happy for our Guests to travel on this road between 15 May and 14 September. Travel on the Dempster Highway in the Yukon is not permitted between 15 September and 14 May due to road conditions. Please note that, while this road is arguably one of Canada's most epic road trips, Guests need to be aware that road conditions can change rapidly and the area is remote. Cellphone coverage is sparse. Ensure you are properly prepared to travel this highway.
No. The island of St Pierre & Miquelon (off the coast of Newfoundland) is French Territory.  Our RVs are insured for travel in Canada and the United States only therefore St Pierre & Miquelon is included on our prohibited travel area list.

Yes. Before booking your ferry, please check out all the regulations for the ferry company that you are travelling on. Be aware that the propane tanks on all our motorhomes comply with ferry regulations.  If you have any queries please contact us.

When booking any ferry, please book space for the maximum size of RV within your chosen category to prevent any space issues on arrival at the ferry, e.g. when booking a ferry for a Super Van Camper (SVC)  (23-25ft), we recommend you book enough space for a 28ft RV.  If booking a Saver 4 RV we recommend you book a ferry space for 28ft (the largest RV size within this category).

BC Ferries operate ferries between mainland BC and the islands such as Vancouver Island. Many Guests will travel on a BC ferry – so here are a few helpful tips on booking a BC Ferry:

  • Know the details of your booked RV - see specifications here.
  • Our RVs are 13' high. Select a standard and oversized vehicle with a height over 7ft.  Insert this height where indicated on the booking form.
  • Vehicle length – select over 20ft, and insert the total length for your vehicle type where indicated on the booking form.  Check the length on our Specification Sheet of the RV category that you have booked and add 5ft … this will allow for some leeway.  Space for RVs is very tightly controlled and if you book too small a space, you may miss your ferry and be rebooked on a later sailing where there is the right space. It is better to have more space than too little.
  • Make your reservation well in advance. Ferry sailings can sell out and you may have a long wait to get an RV on a ferry.
  • If you miss your scheduled time, you will be placed in the standby lane to await a suitable space on a later sailing.

Generally speaking, you are permitted to travel on any roads in the United States and Canada which are federal or provincially numbered roads.  Travel on any roads in the United States is subject to our US driving surcharge.  Travel in northern parts of Canada is subject to our Northern Surcharge. You are also not permitted to drive an RV anywhere on Manhattan Island, USA or to travel to the Burning Man Festival in Nevada, USA.

Guests are also not permitted to travel on some routes in the Yukon and Alaska, along with roads in Northern Quebec and Labrador at any time.  See "Prohibited Travel Areas" and "Restricted Travel Areas" in our FAQ section for full details of these routes.

There are some urban restrictions within Canada and the United States where Guests are not allowed to park or travel through.  Please see "Urban Travel Restrictions" in our FAQ section for details.

Note that CanaDream Inc RVs have GPS tracking, which triggers alerts when any RV is being driven into a Northern Surcharge, Prohibited, or Restricted travel area.

Sorry. We do not allow anything to be towed behind our vehicles. Your insurance coverage with CanaDream will not cover any damage to the RV if you are towing anything.
YesUnless U.S. travel has been included in your reservation at no cost, there is a  fixed charge for travelling into the United States.   See our Pricing page for this charge. Please note that U.S. Agriculture may not allow fresh meat, fruits and vegetables across the border.  If you are planning on crossing into the USA we suggest you shop for your groceries once you are in the United States.  If you decide after you pick up your RV that you wish to travel into the United States, you can call us on our toll-free number and we will add this to your booking.  We will process the fee on your credit card. Please be aware, there is no coverage should you travel in the U.S. without prior authorization.
Only 1-ply toilet paper is suitable for use in our RVs. This breaks down quicker than 2 and 3 ply paper and doesn't clog the sewage system. 1-ply toilet paper is available from RV supply stores and some supermarkets. It is also sold at CanaDream locations. Please note that Guests are responsible for the cost of clearing clogged tanks where the incorrect toilet paper has been used.

If the driver's license from your own country is in English, you do not need an International license. If your license is in a language other than English, we strongly recommend you bring an International License, together with the license from your own country. For translation purposes, an International Driver's License will ensure ease of use in Canada and the United States. Please note that an International License is not valid on its own for driving in Canada and the USA. The International License must also be accompanied by a valid driver's license issued in your own country.
Yes, unless you have purchased our optional Platinum package at pick up, both the gray and black waste tanks must be emptied at an appropriate dump station before the unit is returned. If the vehicle is returned without being emptied, a charge applies.

Please view the page on our website regarding our Hygiene Measures. This page outlines our commitment to you regarding safety during this pandemic.

Before you return your RV to us, we also request that, for the safety of our Crew members, you read and understand the COVID-19 document which is available in both English and French.
You will receive the vehicle with at least ¼ tank of fuel. You must return it with the fuel at the same level as pick up or you will be charged a fuel fee. Please note that the fuel level is calculated using the gauge and not by the estimated km to E shown above the gauge, as the km to E does not always correctly show the fuel level. .Please see our pricing sheet for current charges for the fuel fee. Propane tanks may be returned empty.  We do not offer a refund if the vehicle is returned with more fuel than at pickup.  The Vehicle Specification page on our website provides you with the fuel tank capacity for each of our vehicle types. You are welcome to use this as a rough guide in calculating the number of litres required to return the vehicle at the same fuel level as pick up.
Generators are factory fitted to most of our units.  Please note that generators are not available in our TCA Truck and Campers. For Guests picking up their RVs between 1 October and 30 April, generator use is free of charge. For pickups between1 May to 30 September, Guests using the generator will be charged an hourly rate for use of the generator.  Unlimited generator use is included in our We are Happy To Platinum Plus package.

See our current pricing sheet for more details.
We are happy to welcome your pet travelling with you with payment of a pet fee.  We ask that Guests tell us in advance if they wish to bring their pet and require Guests to ensure their pet does not cause any damage to the RV. Should additional pet cleaning be required at drop off, extra cleaning charges will apply. Please refer to our pet policy for more information.
We make every effort to ensure our Guests receive the vehicle type they book.  However, if, for any reason beyond the company's control, the reserved vehicle is not available, CanaDream reserves the right to substitute a vehicle of equivalent value or offer a higher rated vehicle at no additional cost. Should a lower rated vehicle be substituted, the company's only responsibility is to refund the difference between the two vehicles. Although this is infrequent, accidents or mechanical repairs may force substitutions
The popularity of our relocation specials mean it would be very difficult for us to maintain an up to date relocation waiting list. Our rental vehicle relocation page is updated daily, so the best way to track available relocation specials is by bookmarking this page and visiting it on a regular basis.

We are happy to provide Guest Guides for each of our RV types.   These Guides include complete instructions on the operation of everything in your RV.   You can view the online versions of the Guest Guides here.
Our largest RVs are designed to accommodate up to 6 people. This is determined not by the number of sleeping places in the RV, but by the number of seatbelts. Under Canadian law, every person seated in the vehicle must be wearing a seat belt. The maximum number of seat belts in any of our vehicles is six.
While WiFi is not automatically available in our RVs, we do offer a product for an additional charge which is a Wi-Fi hotspot allowing easy connections to access the internet for texts, emails, social media and web browsing.   More information about the Solis WiFi Hotspot can be found here.  Read our blog with other suggestions to get WiFi in an RV and stay connected on your RV vacation in Canada.
We are happy to provide Guests with How To videos showing how components in their chosen RV work.  You can view these How To Videos on our website.
We are happy to deliver the RV or collect it from you (within Canada) on payment of the applicable fee.  Please note we are unable to provide a collection and delivery service outside of our regular business hours.
Please see our travel extras page for pricing and further information.

Bike racks can be fitted on the tow hitch of our SVC, MHB, MHA and MHX RVs. Unfortunately, due to the rear access doors (emergency exits) on our TCA and DVC units, they cannot be fitted to these vehicles. Guests renting a DVC or TCA would need to carefully carry their bikes inside the vehicle and we would recommend putting the bike into a bike sock to protect the bike and the RV.

We are happy to enable Guests to travel with their bikes and have Swagman bike racks for rent from all of our corporate locations.  These bike racks are suitable for up to four bikes with a maximum carrying capacity of 140lbs.  More information about our bike racks is available here.   Up to date pricing for this product can be found on our Pricing page.

We do not provide transfers to or from the airport or airport hotels at any of our locations.  Taxi fare information is available on our Locations pages.
We do not rent bikes but are happy to refer you to mountain bike rental stores in Vancouver and Calgary only.  This option is not available for one-way rentals.

Guests are required at pick up to read and sign our "Before you drop off your RV" document. This document is available in English, French, German, and Dutch.
If there is any discrepancy between the wording on the English document and that on the French, German, or Dutch versions, the wording on the English version will apply.

Select your pickup and dropoff locations and dates in the booking box on the left, click on "Rent an RV" and away you go! CanaDream's real-time availability and pricing will let you see the price of your RV vacation immediately.  We are happy to honour the price you receive on your quote for up to five days from the date of the quote. After five days, the quote will expire and a new quote will be required.

A booking is only confirmed when we receive a $ 500.00 deposit. If the booking date falls 30 days prior to the pick up day, then we will require full payment at the time of booking. Please contact our reservations department between 08:00 and 17:00 MST at 1-800-347-7126 (toll free within North America), or 403-259-5447 if calling from Calgary, Alberta.   You may also contact us by email at booking@canadream.com.

Our RV fridges are designed to operate using the coach battery or propane supply of the RV. Most of our fleet will offer a 12-V fridge that operates off the coach battery system when traveling. 12-V fridges continue to run off the coach battery when connected to a campsite electricity hookup. It is important to provide a regular charge to the coach batteries, at least every 2-3 days (depending on power usage), to prevent functionality disruption of appliances in the RV.

A small portion of our fleet will offer Two-way fridges. Two-way fridges generally run on propane when the RV is not plugged into shore power and automatically switch to run on electricity if an external power source is detected.

Please check the How to Guide and the Guest Guide for the model of RV you receive to confirm the required settings for the refrigerator. The type of fridge in an RV cannot be guaranteed and will be based on fleet availability for the date of pick-up.
Having completed Online Check-in prior to arrival at our station, RV Pick up takes approximately 15-20 minutes. With all Guest information, important documentation signed, demo videos watched, security deposit paid and any extras purchased at Online Check-in, the time for pick up is greatly reduced and the Guest simply completes their self-guided RV tour and damage inspection prior to setting off. CanaDream is happy to offer a one-to-one Personal Demonstration (for a fee of $50) which takes up to 30-45 minutes. You can pre-book this service at the time of booking or during Online Check-in.

Our Crew are happy to answer any questions Guests may have prior to setting off on their road trip.
As long as the vehicle is returned in a clean, undamaged condition with all equipment and any kitchen/linen kits returned (and holding tanks emptied), the drop-off takes approximately ½ hour.  If you have a flight booking soon after drop-off, you should drop off your RV with plenty of time to get to your next destination.
CanaDream offers a certain number of days at the heavily discounted relocation rate. The number of days and kilometres are determined by the route you are travelling. Subject to availability, you may be able to hire the vehicle for additional days at our regular rate. Extra kilometres driven are charged at our current per kilometre rate on vehicle return. For full details, see our Terms and Conditions and Pricing sections.
This depends on the vehicle type. Canadian transport regulations state that each person travelling must be wearing a seatbelt. The number of people able to travel in each motorhome is dependent upon the number of seatbelts provided. The following table shows the maximum number of seatbelts we can guarantee in each of our vehicles.
MHA   6
MHB   6
SVC   4
DVC   4
TCA   5
We recommend that our Guests use the planning tools on our website to calculate the approximate number of kilometres they will require for their vacation.  As we do not provide Guests with refunds for unused kilometres, we suggest that Guests do not pre-purchase more kilometres than they calculate they will need.

From time to time, accidents and incidents do occur during your road trip. CanaDream is here to assist you during this time.

If anyone is injured in the accident, please call 911 to obtain immediate assistance.

We require you to record all details of the accident or incident, however minor, including as many photos as possible of all noticeable damage to all involved vehicles and any fixed objects or property, using either the paper forms in the blue wallet in your RV or by reporting to us online.  You are also required to notify us of the accident within 24 hours by phone, email or online. If you fail to notify us of damage to our vehicle and/or damage to another vehicle, you will be liable for the full cost of the damage. There are no exceptions to this requirement.

Yes. The fall months can be some of the best times to travel in Canada.  There are fewer people on the roads and campgrounds are usually not as full.  Colours start to turn from late September and provide some spectacular scenery along your travel route.   Fall also brings cooler nights, great for sitting around the campfire. While fall is a great time to travel, there are a few things Guests should be aware of when travelling at this time.  Please read  our leaflet "Information for Guests travelling in the Fall".   This information is available in English, French, German and Dutch.
Changes to an existing booking may incur a charge.  If you wish to change an existing booking, please see our Booking Amendment policy.
While we are happy for our Guests to book for any number of nights, we have a minimum rental charge based on 5 nights year-round.  The cost will vary and is dependent on rates applicable at time of booking.
One driver is included in the rental cost. There is an additional driver charge  per night for the entire rental period per additional driver. There is no coverage should an unauthorized driver be involved in an accident.
Driving in Canada may differ from driving in your own country.  Our North American Safe Driving video is available to familiarize you with driving and road rules applicable in North America.  This video is available in English, French and German.  View our Safe Driving video.
Smoking of any kind is not permitted in our RVs. This includes vaping, cigarettes and recreational cannibis. If vape odour, cigarette or cannibis use is detected in the unit at drop-off, a defuming and sanitizing charge will be applied. See our pricing page for current charge.

Guests assume all responsibility for any expense or loss of time while travelling in restricted areas.

Some Guests prefer not to stay in established campgrounds and look for other camping options when they take an RV vacation. This type of camping is possible in Canada.  Refer to our blog, Camping for Free in Canada, for more information.

Standard drop off is between 8-10am during the summer months (May to October).  Later drop-off times may be available (for a fee) during summer. We require you to drop off within the selected hour slot to avoid additional late drop-off charges.  We open at 9am in winter and Guests in winter rentals may select a later available drop-off time at no charge.

In addition, we require a passport for international guests or an ID card for our U.S. Guests. Please note that the physical driving license card is required at pick up, digital driving licenses are becoming more popular but are not acceptable on their own.
Awnings that are factory-fitted to our RVs are disabled from use. Our decision to disable the awnings was not an easy one, rather the result of an extremely high incidence of awning damage caused by inattention of Guests and incorrect use. Awnings are an extremely expensive item to replace when damaged and it can take anywhere from six weeks to six months to receive replacement awnings or parts from the factory. Awnings are intended for shade from the sun, not as rain shelters. The weight of excessive water on the awnings, along with strong winds, both result in significant damage to awnings. Guests who experienced damage while the awning was in use often found they were unable to retract the awning to drive the unit, resulting in unnecessary delays to their vacations. As awning damage is not covered under CanaDream's insurance coverage, Guests are responsible for the full cost of repair or replacement. While Guests may initially say they are happy to accept that cost, they don't realize they may be faced with a damage bill for thousands of dollars.  We appreciate that our decision may cause some inconvenience for Guests however, in the interests of all parties, we have disabled the awnings from use.

Our fleet of vehicles is in top mechanical condition. In the unlikely event that a mechanical failure occurs, Guests are authorized to proceed with the necessary repairs up to $100.00. For expenses over $100.00, guests must telephone our on-road assistance team for authorization before proceeding with repairs. Replacement parts must be returned to the rental station for reimbursement. Guests assume full responsibility for damage to tires and undercarriage. Oil, tire pressure and coolant must be checked at each refueling. Costs for oil will be refunded upon presentation of receipts. The company's responsibility is limited to the refund of the daily gross rate, or portion thereof, if the breakdown repair is longer than 48 hours.
As numerous conditions affect gas mileage (wind, hills, speed, driving habits, etc.), fuel consumption will vary according to the conditions. As a rough "rule of thumb", you could budget about 25-30 litres/100 kilometres. This rough estimate is for budgeting purposes only. CanaDream offers no guarantee as to fuel consumption and will not offer any reimbursement to Guests where actual consumption is less than estimated on this website.
Please go to our Terms and Conditions page for full details. You will be required to sign this document when you pick up your vehicle. We recommend you take the time to read this prior to arrival so you are familiar with these terms.
Fuel is to be paid for by the person doing the relocation.  Occasionally we may include a small fuel allowance in a relocation and, if applicable, this will be shown under the included kilometres in the Relocation List.
A late drop-off fee will be charged for each hour the vehicle is not returned on or before the drop-off time stated in your rental agreement. Please see our pricing page for current charge per hour.
Sorry.  We are unable to offer you a refund if you decide to drop off your RV before the drop-off date shown in your rental agreement.
There is no 'one size fits all' answer to this question as it will depend on the time of year you are travelling and how much you use components in the RV that require propane.  Propane usage can increase significantly as temperatures drop.  In extremely cold winter temperatures, it's possible that you may need to refill your propane every other day but in summer, the tank will last significantly longer.  It is important that you monitor your propane usage daily, regardless of the time of year, and never let the level go below 1/4 tank.  Know in advance where you will be able to top up the propane tank along your route.
The credit card holder must be present when the RV is picked up so we can verify identity and confirm that the credit card belongs to that person.  The name on the booking must match the name on the credit card and the credit card must be presented at pick up.

If you are unfortunate to be involved in an accident involving the RV which prevents you from continuing your vacation, CanaDream will endeavour to provide you with a replacement RV  where available.   However, your insurance with CanaDream does not cover liability for loss of personal property, nor does it cover costs for accommodation, transportation, or replacement of the vehicle if the vehicle is stolen or should an incident occur that makes the rented vehicle inoperable. In these situations, and depending on availability, a new signed rental agreement must be in place before a replacement vehicle is provided and the Guest is responsible for all costs associated with this new agreement.   We strongly recommend that Guests have travel insurance to cover these costs.
