Results for "Insurance Coverage Plan"
- We understand that the wildfires in Alberta and British Columbia increase concern for health and safety when travelling. While it is very unfortunate that many popular locations are not safe to visit right now, there are many alternatives, and we recommend you plan some alternative fun places to go to this summer. We have some many great RV itineraries offering alternative routes.
If you have travel insurance or credit card insurance, we recommend checking to see if they are able to cover you for cancellations or curtailment coverage, should you decide not to travel or to cut your trip short.
If you have booked through a tour operator
- Please contact your tour operator to discuss your options, unfortunately, we would not know the terms on which you have booked.
Yes. We are happy to provide 3 in 1 child seats for our Guests for a small fee. During peak season a child seat may be in short supply so we suggest you book these prior to your arrival or bring your own with you. We don't rent portable cribs, strollers or playpens, however our reservations department may be able to give you the name and phone number of companies who can assist with this.
Use the interactive map to see where the Northern Surcharge area applies.
Any destination north of the line on the map is deemed to be in a Northern Surcharge area. Vehicles for northern travel must be expressly requested and confirmed at the time of reservation. By virtue of the remoteness, weather, and road surface conditions in northern areas, it is important for CanaDream to know when a Guest is driving into these regions. Guests who travel to these areas without permission will be subject to a $1500 penalty and will void all insurance coverage. CanaDream RVs are all tracked for insurance purposes and Guests will be contacted when they drive into a northern surcharge area if they have not pre-purchased the Northern Surcharge fee. CanaDream reserves the right to restrict driving access at any time.
If you pick up in Whitehorse, you will have the Northern Surcharge included in your rental. Permission is automatically granted to travel in Northern Surcharge areas with the exception of the 'No-Go' areas of the Denali and Dalton Highways in Alaska, the North Canol Highway in the Yukon and any other prohibited routes.
Driving in northerly regions of Canada is not without risks. We encourage Guests to research their trip and route carefully, understanding and adhering to the CanaDream prohibited and restricted roads.
Guests should also be conscious that vehicle recovery following a flat tire, incident or lockout can take a considerable time to resolve and can therefore be very expensive.
Cell signal can also be very limited and we encourage Guests to travel with a satellite phone.
Bike racks can be fitted on the tow hitch of our SVC, MHC, MHB, MHA, MHL and MHX RVs. Unfortunately, due to the rear access doors (emergency exits) on our TCA and DVC units, they cannot be fitted to these vehicles. Guests renting a DVC or TCA would need to carefully carry their bikes inside the vehicle and we would recommend putting the bike into a bike sock to protect the bike and the RV.
We are happy to enable Guests to travel with their bikes and have Swagman bike racks for rent from all of our corporate locations. These bike racks are suitable for up to four bikes with a maximum carrying capacity of 140lbs. More information about our bike racks is available here. Up to date pricing for this product can be found on our Pricing page.

We strongly recommend that Guests plan to stay in campgrounds during their RV vacations, particularly if they are unfamiliar with the area. This adds a layer of safety to their travels and provides them with access to campground facilities and hookups. If Guests choose not to stay in campgrounds or are unable to secure a booking, there are other options. Refer to our blog, Camping for Free in Canada, to learn about camping on Crown Land and other places.

CanaDream RVs have GPS tracking which trigger alerts when any RV is being driven into a Northern Surcharge, Prohibited or Restricted travel area.
It is important that Guests have suitable travel insurance for cover for any event which means they need to change or cancel their intended RV rental. Bookings can be amended subject to our Booking Amendment Policy.
Burning Man Festival in Nevada – CanaDream Inc does not permit any RV to be taken to the Burning Man festival. Guests who take a CanaDream unit to this festival will automatically have their insurance voided, making them responsible for all costs for damage, cleaning, and repairs and in addition will incur a $5,000 fine.
CanaDream reserves the right to alter or change the list of festivals which CanaDream RVs can be taken to at any time. Guests wishing to take a CanaDream RV to a festival must request permission at the time of booking.
When you are not connected to the campground electricity the 12V system from the coach batteries will provide power to appliances such as the water pump, water heater, furnace, lights, USB chargers, fridge, etc.
It is very important to ensure you are regularly providing a sufficient charge to the coach batteries to ensure optimal functionality of the RV by plugging in to campground electricity daily, running the generator 2-4 hours daily, or driving 6-8 hours daily. The solar panel will provide a slow charge on sunny days.
The coach batteries alone are not powerful enough to operate the 110V appliances (microwave, roof air conditioner, or wall outlets). If you cannot connect to campground power but require full power appliances as mentioned above, the generator (with associated cost) can also provide full power to the RV, while providing a consecutive charge to the coach batteries.
We do not recommend relying on only engine charging or solar panel charging for extended periods of time. We recommend to secure a 30-amp electrical connection at least every 2-3 days to ensure the coach batteries stay sufficiently charges to prevent any disruptions during your trip. If you will not be plugged into a campground, it is recommended to run the generator for 2-4 hours daily to charge the coach batteries.
